Breast Augmentation in New York City

The most important aspect of any Breast Augmentation is that it looks natural. To accomplish this, I always prefer the sub-axillary approach, which means I insert the implant through a tiny incision in the underarm. Experience informs me as to the proper projection and positioning, taking into account a woman’s figure as well as her desired new physical proportion. In New York City, many of my patients have busy social lives and/or demanding jobs, and therefore it is important that the recovery is rather brief, allowing a woman to go back to work on a Monday if the surgery is performed on a Thursday — so long as her job isn’t extremely physically demanding. She can quickly return to her exercise routine as well in less than two weeks.* At my hospital-grade surgical facility at 800A Fifth Avenue, a covered parking structure with direct access to a special entrance assures the utmost privacy for those patients in the public spotlight. With almost no downtime, beautiful results, and the personalized medical attention that I and my staff provide, I do hope that you will enjoy the benefits of this procedure if you wish to make a change to this part of your body.

Breast Implants – Quick Recovery

June 28, 2013

There is still time to get breast implants to look beautiful at the beach and while wearing little summer dresses! Instead of visible and painful incisions around the areola and/or the breast crease, implants are inserted through a small incision in the armpit. This technique is more difficult but is, in my view, superior. A woman can be bathing-suit ready in three days.* There are no scars anywhere near the breast, just a tiny line hidden in the underarm area. Breasts should never be unnatural looking: implants that sit too high, look like half grapefruits stuck to the chest, or breasts that enter the room minutes before a woman does are not attractive. The ideal breast — whatever size — should have a gentle slope, upturned nipples, and fullness in the lower part. When a woman lies back, her breasts should naturally fall to the sides. Cleavage shouldn’t be too overwhelming or too sparse. Ideal breasts can be achieved with precise, skillful placement of implants, and the wonderful femininity of a beautiful chest can be enjoyed.

Teen Plastic Surgery

June 21, 2013

Plastic surgery for teens can make the difference between growing up insecure and chastised, or growing up secure and comfortable. The following procedures are popular with my teen patients: rhinoplasty (nose job), otoplasty (ear pinning), gynecomastia (male breast reduction), and scar revision. If a teen is over the age of 15, when the growth plates are more than 90% developed, it is perfectly safe to perform a rhinoplasty, and many of my teen patientschoose the summer as the perfect time for this transformation. It is not uncommon for my prior rhinoplasty patients to bring in their teenage children to have their noses done as well, and I always find this to be one of the highest compliments, since parents are most protective of their offspring. The most important aesthetic decision regarding teen rhinoplasties is to ensure that the resculpted nose will compliment not just a juvenile face, but an adult face, because what can look appropriate to a 16-year-old might look silly on a 46-year-old. A one-millimeter decision might be the difference that allows the nose to look good throughout a person’s entire life. Otoplasty is the correction of over-projecting ears. Gynecomastia – having overly developed breasts in male patients – can stigmatize young men, and is treated by reducing unwanted breast tissue. Scar revision can be done anywhere on the face or body, improving previous scars or birthmarks.

BOTOX Specifics

June 14, 2013

When I inject my patients with Botox, there are specific techniques I employ to make the experience — and the results — the best. Many patients, when leaving my office after their treatments, comment that there are no marks or telltale signs of having had the procedure. This is because I use tiny needles that I import from Japan that are as small as acupuncture needles with holes in them. These not only make the experience more comfortable, but also disturb very little tissue (as compared to larger needles, which can leave “insertion marks” that look like small pimples). In addition, to increase patient comfort, I use quick-acting numbing cream that I have specially formulated. I employ numerous secrets to help prevent any type of bruising that might occur. As important as patient comfort is, equally important is the result. I mix my Botox for maximum strength and longevity, and I know exactly which points to inject to achieve the best results.

BOTOX Basics

June 7, 2013

What makes one person’s Botox look better than another’s? Plain and simple, the skill of the injector determines everything. To achieve a natural-looking result, it is important to know exactly where to put the Botox, and exactly how much of the product to use. This differs for every person’s face, which is why it is important to go to a plastic surgeon who has a knowledge of the deeper anatomy. After years of operating on patients as a board-certified plastic surgeon, I know my way around facial muscles and nerves. This helps protect against the dangers of creating downed brows, pulled eyelids, frozen faces, waxy foreheads, or scary “unnatural” expressions. Whenever you see people who look like they’ve had too much Botox — you’re right; they have! The person administering the Botox should know that less is more. This is why my patients don’t look like they’ve had anything done; they simply look good.

Chin Implants

June 7, 2013

Many people have heard of breast implants, but few people know the power of a chin implant. A weak chin undermines what might otherwise be a harmonious face. Some patients need liposuction of the neck combined with the implant to produce an elegantly defined profile, and I use tiny cannulae to remove fat (the insertion points are hidden behind the ears). Chin implants are versatile: a carefully chosen implant can make men look more masculine and women more feminine. When I perform rhinoplasties, often the patient has too much nose and too little chin; however, when these two elements are brought into proportion, the balance is restored and with it, attractiveness. I always insert my implants through an incision made on the inside of the mouth so that no scar is visible. As with any surgery, a natural-looking outcome is always desirable, and it is essential to choose the proper size and shape to ensure that the results are optimum.

Mini Face Lift in Manhattan

June 7, 2013

Face lifts are not what they once were! If the idea conjures up images of skin pulled too tight, mouths stretched to the ears, and incisions that extend into the hairline, then you are not thinking of the truly beautiful and natural-looking possibilities of a mini face lift. The hallmark of good plastic surgery is that it doesn’t show: results should reveal a fresher, more youthful you — not a distorted you. “When is the correct age to have a face lift?” my patients often ask. The answer is not age-related, but related to your aging process. Some people choose to have a face lift in their 40s, while others might wait until they are in their 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s. After a certain point in time, fillers and Botox can only do so much. If you’ve studied your face in the mirror and have imitated lifting your skin, eliminating wrinkles and folds, I invite you into my office so I can educate you further about the subtle and effective surgical procedure known as a mini face lift.

Mommy Makeover In NYC

May 17, 2013

Why is it that there are so many beautiful mothers who are now just as confident with their bodies as they were before having children? Diet and exercise help, but they can’t solve every natural biological change that takes place when a woman goes through pregnancy. Stomachs get stretched out and waistlines disappear; breasts droop and often lose volume. A “Mommy Makeover” is a surgical procedure to lift and (if wanted) revolumize the breasts, as well as to tighten the skin of the stomach, taper the waist, and by doing so, to give a woman her figure back — sometimes a better figure than she began with! Many patients enjoy the ability to wear a t-shirt without needing a bra, and are pleased to wear bikinis without any incisions showing. Muffin tops disappear thanks to the liposuction that I always employ when performing a Mommy Makeover. In all of my surgeries, I take into account the specific healing progress of each of my patients, which helps to quicken recovery time. I would be happy to consult you regarding your individual aesthetic needs if you have any of the issues I’ve described above.

What is the Fastest Way to Remove FAT?

May 10, 2013

The simple answer: liposuction. Liposuction is the gold standard for fat removal. Many people do not realize how quick the recovery actually is: you can have lipo on a Thursday and be back to work on Monday. Healing time for my patients is quick because it has everything to do with a doctor’s technique: the more careful and precise a surgeon is, the less trauma to a patient’s body, and therefore the less downtime. My current liposuction patients are getting ready to look great at the beach this summer, and I am pleased to be a part of their transformation. One beneficial side effect for many is that with a new attractive figure, patients find it easier to diet, exercise, and take better care of themselves. Looking in the mirror at a new you encourages many people to begin living healthier, happier lives.
